How they arrived
Our Ranch Manager Antonio and his wife were at a flea market when they spotted two miniature horses in a situation that did not feel right. They knew almost immediately that these two deserved a real home, not a weekend novelty or a cramped pen.
Antonio negotiated with the seller, secured the pair, and brought them to EcoValley. It was the kind of decision that happens fast when you have seen enough animals who needed someone to say yes. We were glad to be that yes.
Today they live on pasture with our other horses and our Highland cows. They stick close to each other, browse the grass, and are learning the calm rhythm of sanctuary life in the Texas Hill Country.
Life at the sanctuary
Miniature horses still need hoof care, hay, fresh water, shelter from Texas weather, and room to move. This pair gets daily check-ins from the ranch team, turnout with friends in the larger herd, and the unhurried routine that defines EcoValley.
They are curious, gentle, and clearly bonded. Watching them settle in has been one of those reminders of why this place exists: small animals, big needs, and a home that does not run out.
Help us name them
